What it's Used For:

This is the sensor found under the needle plate that lets the machine know when you are switching from straight stitch mode and the standard decorative stitch mode. 

• If your machine is not reading the difference between the two plates, or is stuck in one mode, your sensor may be damaged. 
• Your sensor plate gets damaged from removing the needle plate off the machine when it was in straight stitch mode. 
• This will fit the DX-5, DX-7, and DX-2000QVP.
