This ruler has easy-to-read black and white markings in a 1-inch grid with 1/8" and 1/4" increments. Use the black numbers on white dots and the 1/4" grip sides to cut whole inches. To cut 1/2" increments, follow the white numbers on black dots and the 1/2" grip sides using the Turn-a-Round feature. The 1/4" dashed lines on two sides help trim seam allowances. White horizontal and vertical lines mark the center, making it easy to square up four-patch, embroidered, and applique blocks.
