“Wildflowers don’t care where they grow” – Dolly Parton

My mother loves daylilies. Her gardens were a mix of many varieties of daylilies in yellow, orange, and deep red, and I particularly liked those with lots of spots and speckles. When I saw the wonderful peach and red Carolina Lilies, with their dramatic dots, curving petals and dramatic arches, I fell in love. The curve of the petals, and the hanging stamen remind me of twirling dancers with their elegant legs and ballet slippers. I hope you enjoy the drama of this Carolina beauty – my Carolina Lilies.
